About Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam

RKCSJ Lineup

Back for the ninth straight year and bigger and better than ever, Reckless Kelly and Ryan Sanders Entertainment announced the Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam will take place on Sunday, September 10 at Dell Diamond. An all-star lineup of musicians, professional athletes and celebrities, led by brothers Willy and Cody Braun, come together in the annual event for nine innings of softball and family-friendly entertainment, all for a good cause.

“Every year, we have been able to raise money to make a difference in the community through this project,” said Cody Braun of Reckless Kelly. “After the events of the past week, we knew we needed to direct funds to the relief efforts in Houston and the gulf coast any way we could. That is the main priority for those of us in Texas right now.”

The event will kick off at noon with an antic-filled softball game featuring several former MLB, NFL and University of Texas All-American athletes. Immediately following the game, the outfield will open up for a six-hour concert featuring 20+ acts performing on two centerfield stages.

Fans will be treated to an all-star lineup of music from the likes of Randy Rogers, Roger Creager, Kevin Fowler, Wade Bowen, Charlie Robison, Cody Canada & the Departed, The Peterson Brothers, George Devore, Midnight River Choir, Jamie Lin Wilson, John Evans, Rosie Flores, Jesse Dayton, Jason Eady, Courtney Patton, Mike & the Moonpies and Brandy Zdan. More artists, celebrities and athletes will be announced in the days leading up to the event.

Proceeds from this year’s Jam will go towards relief efforts in South Texas following the devastating path of destruction left by Hurricane Harvey. Organizers will continue to work with Kids in a New Groove and Honor Flight Austin throughout the year to support their missions with outreach, volunteer hours and donation drives. Since its inception, the Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam has raised over $350,000 for area youth leagues, including the funding of a $150,000 renovation of Mabson Field in East Austin, TX.

Tickets for the 9th Annual RKCSJ are on sale now for just $20. On September 1, general admission tickets go up to $25. They will go up to $30 on the day of the event.

Charitable Contributions

For the past eight years, Reckless Kelly’s Celebrity Softball Jam has been about giving back to Central Texas. This year, the mission is even greater. Proceeds from this year’s Jam will go towards relief efforts in South Texas following the devastating path of destruction left by Hurricane Harvey.

As those in South Texas continue to assess the damage and begin the rebuilding process, funds from this year’s event will go towards the areas that need the most support. Wish For Our Heroes will be on-site Sunday collecting donations to assist in the cleanup efforts following the storm and flooding. The biggest need right now is for cleaning supplies, garbage bags, rakes, tarps, tools and gift cards to home improvement stores.Donations can be dropped off at all entrance gates.

“We have this great platform to help the people of South Texas,” said Round Rock Express President Chris Almendarez. “By combining the resources of the artists, athletes and media personalities involved with this event, we can really make a difference in the relief efforts as people begin to rebuild across Texas.”

Organizers will continue to work with Kids in a New Groove and Honor Flight Austin throughout the year to support their missions with outreach, volunteer hours and donation drives.

Since its inception, the Jam has raised over $350,000 through the Reckless Kelly Charitable Youth Foundation for area youth leagues, including the funding of a $150,000 renovation of Mabson Field in East Austin, TX.

Do you have any gently used or outgrown baseball and softball gear? What about instruments lying around collecting dust? Clean out those closets and give back to kids who lost their gear or instruments during Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath! Gloves, bats, balls, cleats...every type of equipment is needed and any and all working music instruments are accepted. Wish For Our Heroes will collect the donated items and distribute them to those in need in South Texas.

Donation bins will be located at each gate.
