About Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam

The Celebrity Softball Jam combines nine innings of fun-filled, athleticism-optional softball with a talent-packed postgame concert on two stages in centerfield.

The long list of musicians and athletes that have participated in the past include Kevin Fowler, Randy Rogers, Los Lonely Boys, Hayes Carll, Muzzie Braun, Dale Watson, Bruce Robison & Kelly Willis, Kyle Park, The Trishas, Midnight River Choir, Pauline Reese, Kyle Petty, Norm Charlton, Bret Boone, Kevin Millar, Eric Winston, Brooks Kieschnick, Jesse James Leija, Curtis Thigpen, Ahmad Brooks, Kirk Dressendorfer and Greg Swindell.

In eight years, the Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam has raised over $300,000 for area youth leagues (South Austin Little League, Balcones Little League, Montopolis Little League, Del Valley Little League, The Miracle League at Town & Country, The Miracle League of San Antonio, Greater East Austin Youth Association and RBI Austin) including a $150,000 renovation of Mabson Field in East Austin.

Reckless Recycling Program

Do you have any gently used or outgrown baseball and softball gear? Clean out those closets and give a deserving kid a chance to play ball! Gloves, bats, balls, cleats...every type of equipment is needed.

Bring those new or used musical instruments that are gathering dust in your closet to help support Kids in a New Groove! Kids in a New Groove is a nonprofit that provides Texas youth in foster care with a committed one-on-one mentoring relationship through weekly private music instruction, which gives children in care the ability to build concrete strategies for life-long success. After enduring abuse and/or neglect at home, these children are in need of a solution that allows them to leap forward toward success and help them to overcome unavoidable obstacles at an early age. Through the individual support of KING’s music mentorship program, kids are able to develop a relationship with a music teacher, earn their own instruments, and perform on records and at community events such as SXSW.  By supporting KING, you are helping the next generation of youth in care to succeed! To volunteer or donate, visit www.kidsinanewgroove.org

Donation bins will be located at each gate; gear will be distributed among several local youth leagues. Please do what you can to help area kids experience the joy of America’s favorite pastime!
